John, that will depend on how much time you have on a simulator and what type of aircraft you have been flying. Both the F-117 and the Rafale are nice EDF jets. Slow flight is stable and overall performance is great. If you feel comfortable, then you are ready for an EDF.

Thanks for the comment! Some of the EDF's definitely can be hand launched and belly landed on grass. You would have to specifically ask me on a particular model. This Rafale I have not tried, but I want to say that it can. The gears can be removed in like 10 seconds. You just have to have enough momentum on your hand launch and it should be fine!

Thanks so much for the comment! This Rafale has 1 EDF unit. Top speed in a dive can reach about 80mph I would say. The body is made of foam and can easily be repaired with hot glue gun or 2 part epoxy. Soft crashes will be fine. Harder crashes can be repaired! Thanks friend!
