RC Truck pullstart engines?

I looking to drop a new engine into my revo 3.3, the engine im looking at is a pull start, i want to know what the future for a pull start will be, please tell my everything. Like will it be difficult to start after it sits for a couple months? Or Just good things to know?

it will be difficult to start if you don't use after run oil in your engine, the fuel that is left over will gum up the internals,

the main problems with the pull start will be, the one way bearing will go out eventually, the string might break or pull completely out, the spring will wear out,

but the pull start can be repaired or replaced easily in just a few minutes if it ever does go out, and they are cheap compared to a new engine

just remember its not a lawnmower, you only need to pull it out 8 - 12 inches, you don't need to yank it hard, just enough to start the engine, if it is hard to pull you most likely flooded your engine, if that happens remove the glow plug and give the pull start a few tugs to clear the fuel in the engine and reinstall the glow plug, re prime and try again

hope this info is useful and have fun!!

If you can't put the EZ-start onto the new engine another option is getting a starter box and keep the pull start on it for a back up. Whether you use a starter box or the pull start you will need a glow plug igniter.

i had an ez start system but i prefer the pull start due to the fact that when i try to tune it the ez start battery would die and then i couldn't do any thing until it was charge. i went to a pull start and i am much happier
