Here are my 3 goals in this project:

1) To have the most maneuverable parkjet ever by using elevons, ailerons, spoilerons, canards, and 3 dimensional vectoring thrust. Yeah thats right, beat that.

2) Have the most stable parkjet ever in high alpha. High alpha or a high angle of attack is when the plane is flying horizontal while its nose it up at like a 45 degree angle.

3) I want to have a super stable platform for aerial photography.

4) This will be MY first plane since 2005! What I mean by this is all the planes I have designed over the past few years I never got to keep. By the time you saw the video I had already pulled all the parts off it and started on the next plane. This will be my plane that I fly and keep. Since it will have super speed, super maneuverability, and super stability at slow speeds I imagine I will keep it around for awhile.

Within a couple weeks I'll have some video of the next prototype.

aforce08 @ 5:18 pm

you know how you …
you know how you said one of your goals is to have the most manuverable park jet. well I,ve been studying and I have found that biplanes and even triplanes are extremely manuverable. you should try one, you might possibly like it. you could also probably design it to be good at high alpha.

ConsideratePerson @ 5:18 pm

you should reanact …
you should reanact a dogfight between your F-22 and the SU-37 or the SU-47. That would be cool.

Hey thanks! Robot project has been canceled. :(

RCSuperPowers @ 5:18 pm

Yes, very good …
Yes, very good point, I was thinking just that! Also I was noticing the high alpha planes like the X-31 have their vertical WAY behind the plane so its not blocked by the wings. It all makes more sense now.

btw, what happened to the flying robot?

spankola1 @ 5:18 pm

Haha,… and a …
Haha,… and a meatloaf sandwich.

The stability in high alpha should get better when you add twin vertical tails. As it is the wide fuselage is blocking the air to the single vertical fin when in high alpha. This is one of the reasons Mig-29s, F-15s and the like have two vertical stabs placed far apart from one another. They are mounted on the edges of the fuse, not along the center.

Nice work dave.
