Okinawa Japan - RC-135 Leaving Kadena AFB
After 45 days in Okinawa, my assistant Crew Chief and I were ready to come home (listen to his comment in the video). I shot this video from inside (obviously) the RC-135. I got some great shots of taxiing out, take off, and an aerial refuel (from the cockpit) too. There is nothing classified in this video, no sensitive electronic equipment was ever filmed…this was shot in 1990, but little has changed since then. ENJOY.

I flew 15 missions out of okinawa in 1983. Great memories. Making me wish I'd stayed in the AF longer.
I just stumbled across this while researching the 6-month old "breaking news" about the North Korean jamming attack on a recon plane. What a rush of memories! I was in Kadena and flew these missions as an MA from 1980-1982, then went back to Offutt where the missions were just NOT as exciting…..!
I vividly remember those l-o-o-o-n-g takeoff rolls.
