How To FLY RC HELICOPTERS.
By Request, I show how to use the control sticks to fly a helicopter on Aerofly pro deluxe from ( http://www.hobby-lobby.com )
You would never jump in a real heli, and say, "Hey, I'll just figure it out!"
Flying an RC model HELI is about the same as trying to balance a BALL BEARING in SPACE!
You move it slightly, and you have to do EVERYTHING YOU CAN (moving all 7 CONTROLS AT ONCE) just to get it stopped, let alone trying to GET IT BACK to you!
Then, if the nose is pointing at you, 4 of those controls are REVERSED!
This is all hard learned with RC HELI Pilots and why there are so few of us around.
Its NERVE-WRACKING for most and why only 4% of the people, actually advance to simply HOVER, let alone move on to 3D (stunts).
CRASHING has to also be accepted as a very important part of the learning curve.
So learn on a VW, and if you never crash it, then get the Porsche!

Sims help the best but most people still crash right away when they try it in real life. Only Aerofly Pro Deluxe is the best to learn on and won all the awards, but still there is no "Pucker Factor" like at the field. LOL

why dont you guys just get the realflight g4 simulator its like two huandred bucks and it works really well and your not that good at flyin. Also you can change the thing that you want to fly

Well, in real rc heli flying, you are always standing on the ground and have reference. If you had Aerofly, you would always have clouds etc in the backgrounds and be able to fly high.
But in reality, practice on the ground. Up there, wont help you.

Depends on what your already flying. I like the MCX for learning controls and next would be any thing like a blace cx2 or a Blazing star.. Then go to a Honeybee MK3 then to a Blue Ray.

Thanks for your replies. I have been flying the Bell Ranger in MS 2002 flight simulator for years now and fancy myself a decent pilot but when I tried to fly the heli from tower view I had a hard time judging what i needed to do as there are no landmarks in the sky Lol.

RC sims, have you standing on the ground flying the plane, as it is when you fly rc. Microsoft, always has you in the plane or behind it. That teaches controls, but no help when the plane is coming back at you and left is right as in RC. Reversed controls never happen in real planes and why it is so hard to teach real plane pilots to fly RC.

They all slide. Nothing is right at take off, till you reach eyelevel hover. Then only the very smallest movements of the sticks will work to make it hover. I will send my tips in a pm. Thanks and good luck.

How different are the RC simulators compared to Microsoft flight simulator ? I have flight sim 2002.
CP2 is best, and …
CP2 is best, and yes your going to have trouble. This is a real heli. Dont mess with gyro settings or all that, as it will be twitchy. This is something that all tail rotored helis have. They also are not trimmed on the ground. You have to hold the controls on the left stick off center till you get to eyelevel hover. Then it will be trimmed. But it is like balancing a ball bearing in space. One you move it, it will take every control just to get it back. Do not watch the tail. Only watch nose.

Thanks for all you help nightflyyer, i have got a 3D heli on order, im upgrading from a esky lama v4 to a esky honey bee cp2. My lama v4 did not have a tail rotor but the honey bee does, can anybody tell me if im going to have problems because i have never flown with tail rotor before?
