MODEL RC F4 Phantom flights dedicated to RF4B Military Personnel.
This Exceed RC F4 Phantom (see this nitroplanes link) http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3235026-10507606
is very pleasing for me to see and fly.
My MOS in the Marine aviation field was 6646, Avionics Specialist and Electrician.
My planes.? The RF4B Phantom.
Our RF4B (R stands for reconnaissance) were electronically sophisticated for the time, with nothing but their cameras for a weapon.
RF4Bs were sleek and carried FLR and SLR and DLR in the nose among other ways of seeing the enemy in the Nam with infrared heat photography.
It was an exciting time for me in the Marine corps and I would love to get in the back seat again and go for a ride.
This Phantom from Exceed RC, which I got from Nitoplanes is a very nicely made kit. It is best to fly this on grass fields, because it is easily scratched up on hard surfaces.
I like it a lot and I will be flying it more, so stay tuned.
Thanks for watching and thanks to any RF4B Military folks for serving

Haha. Thanks very kindly.
F-35. Well… …
F-35. Well…that's why I put the photos in of our Marine birds, I guess, since no USMC paint schemes, but in the air, there is no mistaking the Phantom Profile, for sure. I have flown the MFPs and after hitting my finger very bad with a hand launch and the prop, I decided that only power pod mid engined planes are for me. LOL They are also very loud. I like scale planes better. Thanks and Semper Fi.
Yes, but ours were …
Yes, but ours were the "photo recon" phantoms, called RF4B's. They had a longer and pointed noses to hold the IR and other cameras. We had no weapons or bomb drop capability, so the RF's were the fastest. LOW & Fast, get the picture, and get out fast. Exciting stuff.
Yes, it it cool …
Yes, it it cool that it has that stall. It does not have a lifting body fuselage, like the jets today mostly have, so it can get scary if you forget. And since the model is not full size (like the air) it is worse. But terrific fun at the same time. I will add a rudder maybe this spring when I get some time. I've a couple more jets to test, in the mean time. Thanks.
Thanks for the …
Thanks for the comments. Yes, This one would out fly the Byron F-16s I blew up in Blue Thunder the movie. They sure would have been cheaper. LOL. Glad your flying anything, so keep doing it.

Thanks. That is …
Thanks. That is very kind of you to say.
your a beast dave! …
your a beast dave! you rock!
Dave, Your comments …
Dave, Your comments on the control throws are consistent with other vids I have seen. Since you have flown both, which handles better, the F-4 or F-35? I like the RAF paint job. Can almost see the RR engines vs J-79's. Couldn't bring myself to buy the anchor clanker paint schemes. Then again, Naval Aviator… Seen any decent decals that would do this F-4 justice and make it look Marine-ish?
I know they are different animals, but have you tried the 6mm EDF, mid fuselage prop models?
this is the …
this is the airplane you worked on during nam?
hey would there be …
hey would there be a way to soften the landing gears to make landing softer and also add a rudder
and also… do you think it's cool that it stalls like the real one? i like being as realistic as possible on scale size compared to full size planes
WOW EDF really has …
WOW EDF really has come a long way lol, before you opened the throttle i was thinking there is no way that will take off in that short piece of runway but the acceleration blew me away for an EDF!!! P.S Its been quite a whilst since i seen one fly lol i have been flying IC now for a few years
Semper Fi Dave . . …
Semper Fi Dave . . . a flash from the past, your best (Meritorious Mast Det 2) Camera Tech, BB (nickname from my peers) and Porkrind (Nickname from Gunny Dubie Allen) Gotta get me one of these. . . Bacon
I am amazed it …
I am amazed it stalls easy anyway a great/fun RC Plane by the looks of it.
for sure another …
for sure another nice plane, by the way great tribute to your friends in the marine core Dave. Keep flying and thx for all the efforts and time you put in these videos, I always learn something.
Thanks very kindly. …
Thanks very kindly. I may make a video on how to make a rudder, so NP might see the need on it, which would really just be linkage.
Super skids are great, if you are breaking landing skids a lot. Go for it and thanks again.
Thanks. I loved it …
Thanks. I loved it when the Blue Angels flew these smoking noisy but sweet airplanes years ago. Thank all in your circle for serving.
